Metaphorical associative cards “Anima. Women’s History” (Anima) are designed to work with a large number of different requests. The woman is the main character of the deck. She appears before us in a variety of roles. MAK “Anima” contains stories about the daily life of the heroine, about her everyday problems, about destructive and constructive ways of interacting with a partner, with herself, about mental tossing and delusions.
“What am I like in a relationship?”, “What am I?” I’m looking for, what would I like?”, “What’s happening to me and how to deal with it?” – is not a complete list of queries that can be processed using the Anima. Women’s history”. These metaphorical associative cards are an indispensable tool in individual and group therapy for internal and external conflicts, identity crises, relationships with oneself and the outside world, and in working through interpersonal and family conflicts. Widely used in working with excess weight and eating disorders.
Exercise No. 1 “Flowers and Mines”
Purpose: working with acute emotional condition, its correction; change in attitude to what is happening; finding a way out of a difficult life situation.
Step 1. Think about a situation or person that worries you, or an area of your life in which you have the most stress, for example. Take 10 cards from the MAC “Anima” deck face down (face down) or face up:
- 5 cards as an answer to the question: “What are my “connections”, “openness”, “joy” and “growth” in this situation/relationship/this area of life?”
- 5 cards as an answer to the question: “What are my “difficulties”, “explosions”, “stopping point”, “lack of flow”, “fears and concerns” ?
The first 5 cards will be your flowers (read – resources) in the current situation, and the second 5 cards will be mines (difficulties).
nbsp;Step 2. Turn over the cards one by one and talk about what is happening. You can first turn over all the “mines” and then all the “flowers”, or vice versa. You can also open the cards one by one – 1 card from the “mines”, 1 card from the “flowers”, asking yourself questions:
- “What difficulties did I encounter in this situation?”
- “What connections helped me survive it?” etc.
Questions to help for “min” cards:
- What difficulties do I encounter?< /li>
- What explosions (emotional, behavioral, etc.) are accompanied by such situations?
- What stops me, deprives me of the opportunity to act, cope?
- What fears and concerns I face? etc.
Questions to help for “flower” cards:
- What connections (emotional, professional, relatives, etc.) help me cope with the current situation?
- Do I manage to be open to everything that happens? Who or what helps me with this?
- What makes me happy?
- What areas of growth do I see in this situation? etc.
Note the sensations in your body, feelings and thoughts that arise during the discussion of “colors” and “min”.
Step 3. Flip the cards over – “mines” face down and mix them. Open the cards again and try to feel, see, determine what your actions and changes will help you turn the “mine” into a “flower”. Try to mentally immerse yourself in the picture and change something in its plot, noting how your state (physical, emotional, mental) changes.
Step 4. Turn the flower cards face down and shuffle them. Open the cards again and think about what will help you preserve your “flowers” resources so that they do not turn into “mines” (because flowers wither when they are not cared for). Proceed according to the same principle as in the case of “mine” cards. Immerse yourself in the picture, note what needs to be added to them.
Exercise No. 2 “Bridge from difficulties to opportunities”
Goal: work with current request regarding interpersonal relationships, working with the resource state.
In this technique, you can use cards both face-down and face-up.
Step 1. Think about the relationships that concern you most. This could be a relationship:
- with a spouse
- with a partner
- with parents
- with children
- with a friend
- with colleagues/bosses
You can also work on relationships with something inanimate in your life.
For example, with money, with success, with work etc.
Step 2. Turn all the cards of the MAC Anima deck face down and shuffle them. Take out 1 card face down (face down) as an answer to the question: “What will help me achieve the desired success in my current relationship?” Study the map carefully.
Questions to help:
- What do you see on it?
- What forces will help you achieve what you want ?
- What beliefs will support you along this path?
- What communication style will be appropriate?
- What else can you rely on?
- How do you feel when you talk about this?
- What song could you use to illustrate your condition?
- Tell me how you will feel when everything comes true?
Step 4. Take out 1 more card, which will become a bridge card connecting your capabilities and limitations. Place this card between the cards representing difficulty (left) and success (right). What will give you strength on the way from one state to another? Looking at the third card, formulate a message for yourself, a call, make a plan of several steps that will help you.
Exercise No. 3 “How am I doing today?”
Goal: correction of the emotional state, changing the attitude towards the situation, finding resources to overcome it.
Step 1. Turn all the cards in the deck face up. Inhale and as you exhale, take out the card as an answer to the question: “How am I doing today?”
Step 2. Look at the map. What does it tell you about your current state? What do you think and feel about this?
Step 3. Take 1 more card from the deck, either open or face down, as an answer to the question: “Who or what will help me cope with this situation?” Tell us more about the card.
Step 4. Take a closer look at the map. What changes do you think need to be made to the map so that you can change the current state of affairs and achieve what you want?
