Metaphorical cards “Supporting yourself.” Notes from a psychologist about life and self-knowledge

Psychotherapy is not a psychologist’s answers to your questions. Psychotherapy is about questions that you need to spend some time with. For some the answer will come immediately, for others only after a year. But the point is that value will be revealed to you only when the answer ripens within.

The deck of postcards that you hold in your hands are the very questions and messages that will help reveal what you already mean you know yourself, but you were not yet ready to bring it to the level of awareness.

How to use postcards:
1 option “Postcard of the day”. You ask yourself a question to which you cannot yet find an answer. You take out the card face down and, looking at the picture, answer your question. The picture has no meaning. For different people, the same picture will give a different answer. What associations does the image evoke? How is it related to your question?

2nd option “Call of the Heart”. You select an open picture that resonates with you at a given moment in time. Looking at the picture, answer yourself the question: “Why her? What is important about it for me now?” Read and analyze the message that you will find on the reverse side. Pay attention to whether your thoughts and feelings about the picture coincide with what you see on the back. One postcard can give many important answers.

Option 3 “What the Soul cries for.” You choose an area of life in which you have difficulties. Then find a postcard or several that relate to your area. For example, relationships, self-realization, self-esteem, fears, etc. Study the message that is present on this card.

Option 4 “Let’s talk.” Postcards are perfect for meeting close friends and girlfriends. It is important that this is a safe and trusting relationship. It is important to agree that you can keep silent about what you don’t want to talk about out loud. Cards can be given out or taken from the deck one at a time. The task is to discuss what thoughts and feelings the drawing evokes in each of you and what is contained in the text message for each of you.
